Home of the world record King Salmon, 97 lbs and 4 oz. where the average King Salmon caught is 30 - 50 pounds. Kenai River King Salmon are the largest in the world! The annual return of the King Salmon starts in May and peaks towards mid - last June. The late run starts in early July and ends in early August. The season for King Salmon closes on July 31st.

Fishermen from all around the world gather on the Kenai River to have the opportunity to catch the new world record. Large numbers of King Salmon return yearly proving that the Kenai River is the King capital of the world; several monster Kings are caught each season weighing 70 - 80 lbs and reaching lengths of nearly 5 feet - similar to the photo of the monster King attached to my web page. Experiencing a monster King at the end of your line with reel smoking runs and rod ripping action is a feeling that you will long remember - maybe too well! Customers have stated that they cannot wait for their next Kenai River King Salmon experience.

KENAI RIVER SILVER SALMON FISHING
(COHO SALMON)

Silver Salmon fishing is available August to September each year. Average size is 10 - 15 lbs with some hitting the scales at the 20 lbs mark. These salmon are such aggressive fish that they fight as hard 20 miles upriver as they do in the mouth of the ocean. These fish get their name from their silvery beautiful sides. A variety of fishing techniques can be used to catch these hard fighting fish. You can expect nonstop action and frequent limits as they arrive along with aggressive strikes and some acrobatic tail walking on the water.

KENAI RIVER SOCKEYE SALMON
(RED SALMON)

Sockeye salmon run is probably the most anticipated sport fishery in Alaska; it is an experience to catch them and watch them being caught. They start the early run in June and the late run in July to mid-August. Average size is 6 - 9 lbs. Many local Alaskans say pound for pound this is the hardest fighting salmon of all the species. These line braking, reel thrashing, arm burning fish are not only regarded as hard fighters, but are also regarded for their flaky rich flavorful meat - most consider this fish to be the most flavorful of all.

HALIBUT FISHING IN ALASKA

Halibut average size is 35 - 45 lbs but every saltwater fisherman's dream is to catch the barn-door-size fish over 300 lbs. Usually a few this size are caught every year... will you be the lucky angler this year?

During your saltwater fishing adventure in the ocean you may encounter whales, puffins, sharks, king salmon, silver salmon, beautiful views of snow capped mountains, glaciers in the distance and much more. This trip will allow you to capture Alaska's beauty at its fullest. One of Alaska's most prized possessions is deep fried Halibut; these filets will melt in your mouth.
